Hi! You stumbled upon my first blog post ever. Wow.
How this blog came to be
The decision to create this blog was made literally yesterday, though I have been planning to do something like this for a little while now. There are two main reasons: One, I want to have a place where I can write about my interests, and two, I want to use this blog as practice.
I’m actually getting started, yay! One post down, potentially many more to go.
Technical Details
Considering this is a technical blog, I do want to write a little about how I’ve created this site and how I’m hosting it.
For generating the website itself, I’m using the static site generator Hugo. The content of each page is defined using Markdown. It’s incredibly easy to use and can be extended even further through modules, for example adding KaTeX support. The theme used is risotto by joeroe.
For static site hosting, I’m using GitLab Pages for no additional cost. The domain for this site was rented on Porkbun. It cost me 5€ for an entire year and renews at around the same price, which I believe is an absolute steal.
